BBA(TT)

The B.B.A. (Travel and Tourism) course commenced in the year 2006.This is the 6th year that the course is in progress. The earlier nomenclature of B.T.T.M. has changed to B.B.A. (T & T). The course helps to develop students to take entry level management jobs in the tourism industry. Combination of classroom learning as well as industry based exercises are the features of this course.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • A team of second year and first year students participated at the BBA (T&T) event organized by St. Xaviers college
  • A team of TY, SY and FY students participated at the BBA(T&T) event organized by Rosary College, Navelim were students won the first place on event and second place in the quiz competition

SEMINARS and WORKSHOPS ATTENDED BY STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

  • A team of 12 students have volunteered and worked for the BRICS even held in Nov 2016
  • A group of 10 students participated in Soft Skills Training Programme on grooming
  • Asst. Professor Jovial Fernandes and Asst. Professor Emy Alex published a research paper on “Motivation for ‘ Consumer Producer’ Interactions in Tourism – disintermediation and scope for travel agencies” in research journal ATNA, ISSN 0975-3281

STUDY TOURS and FIELD TRIPS

  • The department organized its annual ‘Tour Training Programme’ for the students of the TY class who inturn organized a 10 day tour for the SY and FY students to Delhi-Manali-Dharmshala- Amritsar between the 13th and 22nd Nov 2016

GUEST LECTURERS

  • Mr. Srijit Kumar, Senior Sales Manager at Acron and ITC Fortune , Goa was invited to interact with the students
  • Professor Mihir Ignatius Nayak, associated with the Univeristy IUBH University Berlin, Germany was invited to interact with the students on 30th August 2016
  • WWF, Goa Chapter, organized an interactive session with the students on responsible tourism

EVENTS ORGANIZED

  • The annual World Tourism Day event ‘MAGNIFY’ was oragized on 1st October 2016 and the Departments club ‘Heritage Treasures’ was also inaugurated. A total of 7 colleges participated at the event and Rosary College emerged as the overall champions
