Melange 2017 -Bring out the best in you.

Don Bosco College, Panjim organised ‘Melange 17’, a state level competition for Higher Secondary Schools in Goa, on 17th August, 2017 at the Bicentenary Hall on the campus. Twelve institutions participated enthusiastically in the event. There were competitions like Elocution, Poster Making, Short Film, Business quiz and Photo Tour.

The event began with the inaugural ceremony where the Chief Guest was Albert Fernandes, Assistant Registrar of Goa University. Fr Wilfred Fernandes, Manager addressed the gathering and cited a story that encouraged students to participate and give their best.

Cedric Silveira, the Principal introduced the courses and their benefits available at Don Bosco College. The event co-ordinator Jovi D’Silva introduced the Chief Guest to the audience.

Albert Fernandes acknowledged Don Bosco’s values and expressed the importance of having such events. “I am truly happy that the college has organised ‘Melange 2017’, providing a platform for all the Higher Secondary schools in Goa”, he said.

The Inaugural concluded with a Dance performance by the college students, after which the students began participating in the competitions.

Xena Fernandes, a parent from Presentation Higher secondary school commented, “I am glad that the college took this initiative because it helps children build their personality and stay organised.”

All the students were excited and participated actively throughout.

The Overall trophy was won by D.C.T.’s Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary school, followed by the runners up KV INS, Mandovi. Amay Pitroda a Dempo student stated, “The event was fun! … elocution is a good way to get out stage fear and builds communication skills, while film making is today’s trend and youngsters go crazy on You Tube.”
