Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose.  There are no mistakes, no coincidences. All events are blessings given to us to learn from”.  This quote by Elizabeth Kubler- Ross was indeed reflected in action at the retreats organized for the students of various streams at Don Bosco College, Panaji between 9th to 13th January, 2017.

The annual retreat was conducted by Faith Works India, nonprofit Charitable Trust based in Goa involved in social & spiritual works within the state. The sessions started off with lively music and action songs, followed by Rev. Fr. Loddy Pires, Shrine in charge speaking to the students about the impact of the teachings of Don Bosco and the positive changes that shape the Salesians while interacting with youth.

Zarine Lobo, Principal of Goa College of Hospitality and Culinary Education, Dona Paula reflected on the power of one and said that one can make a difference despite being alone, when bent on constructive purpose.

Yvette Dias, the pioneer of Faith Works India reiterated on the power of spoken words and backed up with examples from real life about how the words that we may utter casually have a huge impact on our lives and also on those around us.

Kenneth D’sa dwelt on the fact that today we are deeply addicted to technology and the devices we possess. This takes us away the real world and we lose out on relationships and priorities in life.

The retreats concluded with the students sharing their feedback and expressing appreciation after an enriching experience.
