Seminar on Drug Abuse Prevention

A one day sensitization seminar on drug abuse prevention was organized by the department of Social Work, Don Bosco College, Panjim in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence, New Delhi on 23rd March 2017. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Pradeep Naik, the Dean of GMC. The Officiating Principal Cedric Silveira, Coordinator of Social Work dept. Pratibha Majik, Program in-charge Pankaj Kumbhar and Staff Secretary Rohan Kerkar along with other faculty members were also present. Dr. Ashish Srivastava (IPHP) PSI Manjunat Naik (ANC-Panjim) and IPS Jeetendra Rajan (NCB-Goa) addressed the audience and conducted interactive sessions. Students from 11 colleges participated in the seminar. A poster making competition was held in which the 1st place was bagged by Goa college of Hospitality-Dona Paula, 2nd place by Don Bosco College Panjim & 3rd place went to Goa college of Home Science.

Felly Gomes and Beatrice Cortanez from the NGO ‘Live Happy’ graced the valedictory function along with Maria, a social worker from Spain.
